Reveal Brighter, Smoother, More Radiant Skin with MOXI®
Looking for a gentle way to refresh your skin, improve uneven tone and texture, or maintain a youthful complexion? MOXI® is a non-ablative fractional laser treatment designed to improve the appearance of early signs of aging and sun damage with minimal downtime.
At The Skin Care Center at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery in Pensacola, Florida, MOXI treatments are customized to your skin and your goals. Whether you’re looking to address specific concerns or simply want to maintain healthy, glowing skin, MOXI can be incorporated into your skincare routine at virtually any age.
What Is MOXI?
MOXI is a gentle, non-ablative fractional laser that uses a 1927 nm wavelength to create controlled micro-coagulation zones within the skin. This stimulates the skin’s natural renewal process while targeting unwanted pigmentation and improving overall tone and texture.
Unlike more aggressive resurfacing treatments, MOXI is designed to provide noticeable skin rejuvenation with relatively little downtime, making it a great option for patients who want results without putting their routine on hold for an extended period.
MOXI can also be customized to different treatment levels depending on your skin concerns, goals and desired downtime.
What Can MOXI Treat?
MOXI can help improve the appearance of:
- Sun damage
- Uneven pigmentation
- Uneven skin tone
- Rough or uneven texture
- Early signs of aging
- Fine lines
- Dullness
- General skin quality
It is also a popular “prejuvenation” treatment for younger patients who want to maintain their skin and help address early signs of sun damage and aging before they become more noticeable.
Is MOXI Safe for All Skin Types?
One of the advantages of MOXI is its versatility. MOXI can be used on all skin types, making it an option for a wide range of patients.
Because every patient’s skin is different, your provider will evaluate your skin, concerns and treatment goals to determine the appropriate settings and treatment plan for you.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
While MOXI is commonly performed on the face, treatment isn’t limited to facial rejuvenation. Areas frequently exposed to the sun can also benefit from treatment, including the:
- Face
- Neck
- Chest
- Hands
- Arms
Your provider can recommend which areas to treat based on your individual concerns.
What Is a MOXI Treatment Like?
Before your treatment, a topical numbing cream may be applied to help keep you comfortable. Your provider will then pass the MOXI handpiece across the treatment area, delivering fractional laser energy into the skin.
Treatment time varies depending on the areas being treated, but MOXI is designed to be a relatively quick procedure that can easily fit into a busy schedule.
After treatment, the skin may feel warm and appear red, similar to a mild sunburn.
What Is the Downtime After MOXI?
MOXI is known for its minimal downtime compared with more aggressive laser resurfacing treatments.
In the days following treatment, you may notice redness, warmth and a rough or sandpaper-like texture as tiny areas of treated pigment rise to the surface. These microscopic treatment zones, sometimes described as “MENDS,” naturally shed as the skin renews itself.
It is important to allow this process to happen naturally and avoid picking or exfoliating the treated skin prematurely.
Most patients can continue with their normal routine while the skin completes the renewal process, although individual downtime can vary depending on treatment intensity.
When Will I See Results?
As your skin renews following treatment, you may begin to notice a brighter, smoother and more even complexion.
Results can continue to develop over the following weeks as the skin completes its renewal process. The number of treatments recommended will depend on your starting point and goals.
Some patients choose a series of MOXI treatments to correct visible concerns, while others incorporate MOXI periodically into their skincare routine for ongoing maintenance.

MOXI vs. BBL®: What’s the Difference?
MOXI and BBL® HEROic™ can both improve the appearance of sun damage and uneven pigmentation, but they work differently.
BBL uses broad-spectrum light to target specific colors within the skin, such as brown pigmentation and redness. MOXI is a fractional laser that creates microscopic treatment zones to encourage skin renewal and improve overall tone and texture.
For some patients, combining light and laser treatments can provide even more comprehensive rejuvenation. Your provider can determine which treatment — or combination of treatments — best fits your skin.
MOXI vs. HALO® TriBrid™: Which Is Right for Me?
Both MOXI and HALO® TriBrid™ are customizable laser treatments, but they can be used for different levels of correction.
MOXI is often selected for lighter resurfacing, early signs of aging, pigmentation and ongoing skin maintenance with less downtime.
HALO TriBrid offers a more comprehensive resurfacing treatment for patients looking to address more advanced concerns and achieve a greater degree of correction.
The best choice depends on your skin, your goals and how much downtime you are comfortable with.
How Many MOXI Treatments Will I Need?
There is no one-size-fits-all MOXI treatment plan. The number and intensity of treatments will depend on your skin concerns and desired results.
Your provider may recommend a series of treatments for correction followed by periodic maintenance treatments to help preserve your results.
A personalized consultation is the best way to determine the right treatment schedule for you.
Why Choose The Skin Care Center for MOXI?
Laser treatments are highly customizable, and the technology is only one part of achieving a great result. Choosing an experienced medical aesthetics team allows your treatment settings and overall plan to be tailored to your skin.
At The Skin Care Center at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery, we offer a comprehensive selection of advanced laser and light treatments, allowing our providers to recommend the technology that makes the most sense for your individual concerns rather than taking a one-treatment-fits-all approach.
